The Sergeant - Corporate Security supervises and coordinates all work activities for the Corporate Security guard force as well as contract security assigned to the Chester County Operations facility. Acts as tactical leader for normal security related incidents, emergency situations and in times of crisis. Develops and maintains excellent  working relationships with facility management as well as local law enforcement, fire, and other emergency management agencies. When necessary, required to work a rotational assignment responsible for monitoring the work activities of contract security personnel at the facility. 

What You Will Do:

  • Supervises daily security activities for Chester County Operations facility; determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, monitors daily workflow.
  • Ensures that all security related documentation and paperwork complies with Corporate, State and Federal standards. Ensures all incidents are fully investigated and documented and distributed to appropriate facility personnel.
  • Ensures all guards are properly trained in Federal, State, and local requirements.
  • Participates in the development of annual goals and objectives, monitors progress and delegates responsibility when appropriate.
  • Participates in the development of property protection programs, emergency procedures and executive protection programs.
  • Interviews candidates and trains new employees.
  • Tracks budgetary expenditures.
  • Participates in the security planning for special events, to include crowd control, emergency issues, etc.
  • Develops training curriculum specific to security related activities; provides instruction to employees.
  • Looks for improvement opportunities for department operations, security programs, training programs and communications.
  • Represents Security Operations Manager/Executive Protection Manager or Director of Security work related functions as necessary.
  • Issues written/verbal instructions as needed.
  • Participates in special projects or assignments as requested.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coaches and mentors’ peers, indirect and subordinate staff.
  • If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate required plus 5 years of security experience (corporate security, law enforcement, government agency) to include 3 years Supervisory experience (i.e., FTO or Sergeant or Field Supervisor) reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with intrusion alarm systems, fire alarms, access control and CCTV systems.
  • Required obtain and maintain all required certificates and licenses including, but not limited to, South Carolina Driver’s license, Security Officer Registration Certificate from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Security Weapons Permit from SLED, Security Concealed Weapons permit from SLED, First Aid, CPR/AED certification.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a Private Security Company Certified Trainer Certificate, approved by SLED, within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience communicating and interact with all levels, including family members.
  • Experience communicating effectively with local agencies and understand the scope of authority as it relates to jurisdictional issues involving investigations, security matters, fire prevention and emergency situations.
  • Experience working independently.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
  • Computer skill requirements include basic MS office experience and knowledge.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate required plus 7 years of security experience (corporate security, law enforcement, government agency) to include 5 years Supervisory experience (i.e., FTO or Sergeant or Field Supervisor) reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience leveraging partnerships that create synergies.
