A Taste of What You'll Do

Join GALLO as a Senior Luxury Business Development Manager and lead the growth of our luxury wine portfolio by developing and executing strategic sales plans, driving revenue, and maximizing brand contribution across Fine Wine Retailers and Icon Fine Dining accounts. You’ll represent GALLO with distributors and key accounts, manage a team of luxury sales professionals, and focus effort where it delivers the highest impact—balancing winery direction, market dynamics, and premiumization priorities to win in luxury channels.

 

You will own field pricing, forecasting, and A&P planning in partnership with distributor leadership and internal teams, negotiate objectives and incentives, and ensure flawless execution of national programs. Your role includes coaching and developing distributor sales managers and your direct reports, conducting trainings and tastings, coordinating new product launches, and managing budgets and promotional investments to optimize ROI while protecting brand integrity.

 

Success requires deep fine-wine knowledge, a luxury mindset, strong relationship-building with high-end accounts, and the ability to make data-informed, choice-ful decisions. You’ll leverage market intelligence and tools like Account 360, collaborate with Brand Activation, Business Intelligence and Shopper teams, and lead consumer-facing events that elevate GALLO’s presence in top-tier accounts. You’ll be entrepreneurial, adaptable, and committed to building high-performing teams and pipelines for future talent.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of Gallo Winery or distributor luxury wine sales or marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of luxury wine sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of Gallo Winery or distributor luxury wine sales or marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of luxury wine sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Supervisory/Managerial experience.
  • On-premise and retail sales experience.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform product tastings as part of job functions.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Sales Planning Manager Sr, Business Development Manager Sr, Business Intelligence Manager Sr, or Account Manager 3; OR Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of external alcohol sales experience to include luxury sales experience.
  • Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)
  • Experience with selling or marketing Gallo products.
  • Possess a CSW, CSS or other equivalent certification.

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.
