A Taste of What You'll Do

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to enhance account purchasing activity in high-opportunity and understaffed markets. Your focus will be on both our commercial and luxury portfolios, developing advocates with on-premise account buyers, bartenders, and patrons through brand building, education, and programming. This role is vital in driving account purchasing growth and increasing brand awareness in all accounts.

 

You will employ your sales skills in a "blitz style" format, targeting key markets identified for their potential opportunities. In addition to this, you will support other embedded spirits sales teams to enhance Gallo Spirits sales and brand recognition. Your efforts will include selling, distributing, and building brand recognition for Gallo Spirits, ensuring our products are well-represented and appreciated in the market.

 

Your role involves applying sales techniques to impact account purchasing, menu placement, staff education, and the use of permanent and temporary point-of-sale materials to meet our organization's standards. You will also be responsible for educating distributor and broker personnel about Gallo's history, philosophy, and brands, ensuring they can effectively advocate for our products.

 

Tracking, measuring, and recording the results of your sales calls will be an essential part of your responsibilities, as will participating in the development of sales presentations and brand education materials. You will travel to various regions and states to implement sales strategies, identifying and addressing issues, problems, and opportunities as they arise.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of Gallo Winery or affiliated distributor on-premise sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of non-affiliated distributor or distiller on-premise sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of on-premise sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of Gallo winery or distributor affiliated or non-affiliated on-premise sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel in excess of 150 nights a year to execute sales functions.
  • Required to travel by air, car, and or train in the course of business.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Require to obtain a liquor license as required by state/locally.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of E. & J. Gallo Winery or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor on-premise sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Prior rotation as a district manager.
  • Experience with selling spirits in on-premise accounts.
  • Completion of Gallo online Spirits Academy and CSS.
