SUMMARY
Responsible for the supervision of the night warehouse pick and load operation, facility security, and warehouse maintenance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

 Supervises night warehouse staff, assigns job duties and oversees the quality of job performances.

 Plan and organize the work and resources required to run the shift and meet dispatch scheduling.

 Tracks daily productivity and is responsible for meeting established productivity goals.

 Sets objectives along with daily tactical planning and workforce requirements.

 Responsible for training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
 Enforce operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

 Develop and maintain standard operation procedures to improve productivity of employees and efficiencies of processes.

 Works on and may lead continuous improvement projects.

 Assists employees with daily activities.

 Investigates and partners with cross functional teams to resolve customer shortage claims or other issues that may arise.

 Completes daily shift reports and all records and reports in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that all transactions and labor hours are reported accurately.
 Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
 Coordinate repairs for equipment with outside vendors and/or forklift mechanics.

 Effectively communicate with other Supervisors (Delivery & Inventory) to ensure coordination of activities of each department.

 Engages associates to work safely, accurately, and productively in accordance with all company, local, state, and federal policies and laws.
 Understand and apply parameters of the union contract to the union workforce.
 The conducting of warehouse meetings dealing with different current topics and periodic safety procedures and policies.
 Ensure maintenance of clean, orderly and safe warehouse.
 Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
 Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Reviews, controls, and monitors night shift activities.
 Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.
 Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
 Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of operations, logistics, warehouse and/or manufacturing experience to include supervisory or management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 8 years of operations, logistics, warehouse and/or manufacturing experience to include supervisory or management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.  Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.

 Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HAACP and other regulatory requirements.

 Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.

 Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift product.

 Forklift certification is required upon commencement of work.

 Ability to work nights as their regular schedule and when necessary weekends or holidays.
 Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

 

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

 Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or Operations Management.
 4 years of operations, logistics, warehouse and/or manufacturing experience in a high traffic environment to reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
 Experienced with Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement techniques.

 Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.

 Ability to prepare operating procedures, work instructions and process flow charts.

 Experience leading process improvement projects.

 Experience in labor planning and personnel development.
 Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

 Strong organizational skills and strict attention to detail.

 Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

 High analytical ability, individual, and team facilitation skills, including conflict resolution.
 Experience working independently and executing management directives.
 Experience working across organizational lines.
 Good customer service skills.
 Bilingual Spanish.
