A Taste of What You'll Do
Responsible for the accurate weighing of truckloads of grapes, raisins, and various inbound materials used in the winemaking process, and the associated record keeping. participates in lab activities to assist in the Harvest Operation. Must adhere to all safety procedures and work instruction procedures to support quality, food safety and GMP standards.
- Completes all paperwork in a clear, legible manner.
- Performs accurate and timely weighing in and out of trucks.
- Prepares the Grape Tank Report, Grape Weigh Tag Display Report, Wine Program Report, and Grape Varietal Report.
- Opens scales and signs on to the computer terminal in preparation for the morning grape crush.
- Processes weigh tags.
- Enters weigh tags into the computer terminal including correction of discrepancies.
- Participates in the filing of all Scale paperwork.
- Closes out the Scales and the computer terminal for the evening.
- Maintains adequate housekeeping in work areas and cleans up after completion of the job and at the end of the shift.
- Reports any unsanitary conditions that are observed to Supervisor.
- Analyzes and processes laboratory samples.
- Prepares chemical solutions used in the laboratory and disposes of chemical wastes according to guidelines.
- Organizes and maintains lab cleanliness and safety.
- Performs other work related duties as assigned by the Supervisor including, but not limited to, sampling, cleaning, record clerk duties and special projects.
- Operates and maintains harvest equipment to include sample prep equipment and refractometer.
- Completes and records brix measurements for incoming grape shipments.
- Works extended hours as required during harvest season.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Required to be at least 18 years of age.
- Skilled in basic math, 10 key data entry.
- Required to lift and move standard office equipment and supplies that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- May be required to work other shifts as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
- Skilled in using a copy machine, telephone, and ten-key adding machine.
- Required to work a six (6) day workweek, eight to twelve (8-12) hours per day when necessary.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
