A Taste of What You'll Do
We’re seeking a curious, collaborative microbiologist to join our team and help protect product quality across winemaking and production. You’ll apply classical and advanced microbiology techniques—culture work, microscopy, PCR and spectroscopy when applicable—to monitor microbial stability, identify organisms, and prevent spoilage. You’ll collect and interpret data, run challenge studies and validations, and translate findings into clear reports and practical recommendations for cross‑functional partners in winemaking, cellar operations, engineering and supply chain.
This role values hands‑on problem solving and continuous improvement: you’ll plan sample collection, oversee specimen reference collections, optimize methods, and support new method development to enable business growth. You’ll act as a technical resource and liaison, communicating scientific concepts to lab management and mentoring junior staff while ensuring compliance with quality, environmental and safety standards.
We’re looking for someone who is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a diverse team. You should have strong analytical skills, a commitment to data integrity, and the ability to translate technical results into actionable steps that reduce risk and improve processes. Regular attendance and timely communication are essential.
Gallo is committed to an inclusive workplace where all perspectives are valued. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds, experiences and identities to apply. If you’re passionate about microbiology and excited to make an impact on beverage quality, we’d love to hear from you.
